As one of the speakers on a podcast hosted by the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR), APLSI Secretary General Rian Ernest stated that domestically, coal remains the backbone of Indonesia’s electricity system. Meanwhile, renewable energy penetration needs to be accelerated to meet growing energy needs. Therefore, the transition to a new electricity system requires collaboration from various parties—including state-owned electricity company PT PLN (State Electricity Company), independent power producers (IPPs), and other stakeholders.
