APLSI Pushes for the Acceleration of the RKAB Approval Process

2 April 2026
Ketua Umum APLSI Eka Satria dalam Rapat Koordinasi Dewan Energi Nasional membahas kehandalan suplai listrik sistem JAMALI

Jakarta — In response to an invitation from the National Energy Council (Dewan Energi Nasional / DEN), which was opened directly by DEN Member Satya Widya Yudha and other council members, on Thursday 2 April 2026 at the Widjajono Partowidagdo Building, APLSI — also attended directly by Chairman Eka Satria, accompanied by the Vice Chairman and other APLSI executives — joined the agenda “Coordination Meeting on the Reliability of Electricity Supply in the JAMALI System”.

On that occasion, Eka Satria as Chairman of APLSI delivered several points on behalf of members operating power plants in the JAMALI region. Beyond the current conditions, several challenges related to a limited reserve margin, electricity demand that grows annually, and the state of generation capacity additions over recent years require attention as well as support and stronger coordination with stakeholders.

Consistency in policy implementation is also one form of support required by APLSI, so that generation costs remain competitive and attractive to investors, and electricity projects become more bankable. Another matter requiring priority support concerns DMO policy and clarity in the RKAB approval process. It was also conveyed that, at present, the majority of APLSI’s IPP PLTU contribute to supporting the JAMALI system as the nation’s main load center, while also supporting other regions.
