APLSI, in collaboration with the Society of Renewable Energy (SRE), has deployed humanitarian assistance to support communities affected by disasters in Sumatra and Aceh. The initiative focuses on restoring essential energy access and connectivity in impacted areas.
The assistance includes portable solar power generation packages consisting of solar panels, hybrid inverters, energy storage batteries, and Starlink satellite connectivity devices. These systems have been installed at strategic locations within disaster zones, coordinated closely with local governments to ensure effective deployment and immediate usability.
On December 20, 2025, the aid was symbolically handed over by APLSI Chairman Eka Satria to the Governor of West Sumatra, H. Mahyeldi, S.P., alongside other essential relief supplies. During the same event, APLSI distributed 50 LPG packages and stoves to residents in Malalo, Agam Regency, providing immediate support for daily cooking needs.
During the visit, the APLSI Chairman inspected evacuation shelters and community kitchens and assessed conditions in Batu Busuk, Padang City, to better understand on-the-ground challenges. APLSI members continued their solidarity efforts through a second phase of aid distribution via sea transport. This phase was conducted in partnership with the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, utilizing the naval vessel KRI Semarang 594. The vessel departed from Tanjung Priok and was officially flagged off by the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, on December 22, 2025.
As part of the continued response effort, APLSI and representatives from the Coordinating Ministry conducted a field visit to Aceh Tamiang Regency. On December 27, 2025, an emergency connectivity network was successfully installed in Dusun Lubuk Sidup Village and is now operational at two evacuation posts, including the Lubuk Sidup Bridge post, which sustained total damage. The handover of assistance to the local village government was witnessed by Rachmat Kaimuddin, Deputy for Basic Infrastructure Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development.
Through this coordinated humanitarian effort, APLSI reaffirms its commitment to supporting disaster recovery by delivering sustainable energy solutions and strengthening emergency connectivity for affected communities.
