The National Conference (Munas) of the Indonesian Private Electricity Producers Association (APLSI), held in Jakarta today, appointed Eka Satria as APLSI Chairman for the 2025–2029 term. The President Director of PT Medco Power Indonesia replaces Arthur Simatupang, who led the association for the previous two terms.

Through a democratic voting mechanism, this year’s APLSI National Conference adopted the overarching theme: “Synergistic Collaboration Supports a Sustainable Transition in National Electricity Development.” The event was attended by 29 active members representing IPP companies with a total generating capacity of approximately 15.5 GW.

In addition to electing a new Chairman, the National Conference also appointed Bobby Gafur Umar as Chairman of the APLSI Supervisory Board. The event was attended by several prominent figures in the energy sector, including Aryo Djojohadikusumo from Arsari Renewable Energy, who serves as a member of the APLSI Advisory Board.

In his remarks, Eka Satria emphasized APLSI’s commitment to continuously strengthening the role of the private sector as a strategic partner for the government. “We are ready to fully support the national electricity program, in line with the 2025–2034 RUPTL (Power Generation Plan), as well as oversee the Electricity Bill. President Prabowo’s ambitious goal of equitable energy self-sufficiency is a shared responsibility,” Eka said.

For more than two decades, APLSI has contributed approximately 15.5 GW of national electricity capacity—equivalent to 20% of Indonesia’s installed capacity. Moving forward, APLSI is ready to help achieve the RUPTL target of 69.5 GW, with the private sector expected to contribute up to 71% of the total capacity. This is part of the effort to provide affordable, reliable, and sustainable electricity.

Closing the event, Arthur Simatupang expressed his appreciation for the togetherness of all members. “APLSI is a great home for private electricity players. I am optimistic that under the new leadership, APLSI will continue to grow and play a vital role in Indonesia’s energy transformation,” he said.
