Held at the Le Meridien Hotel in Jakarta on Tuesday (September 16, 2025), the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (INDEF) held a focus group discussion (FGD) aimed at analyzing the strategic role of the electricity sector, including the implementation of PT PLN (Persero)’s 2025-2034 RUPTL (Power Supply Plan), in supporting the 8% economic growth target and the national energy self-sufficiency mission.
On this occasion, the Chairman of APLSI, Eka Satria, expressed his appreciation for the initiative of INDEF, PLN, and all stakeholders in discussing electrification as a pillar of national energy self-sufficiency.
“For us, electrification is not only about energy security, but also a strategy for economic growth, industrialization, and reducing the fiscal burden due to fuel and LPG imports,” said Eka.
So far, the private sector has contributed significantly: approximately 71% of national generating capacity comes from IPPs, with investment reaching approximately 80% of a total of more than Rp1,600 trillion, he emphasized.
