The Chairman of APLSI, Eka Satria, served as the main interview source in KONTAN Daily, edition 30 March – 5 April 2026, in an article titled “Energy Transition Must Be Gradual and Realistic”.
In the interview, Eka Satria responded to the government’s plan to require captive coal-fired power plants (PLTU) owned by industries to develop renewable energy as part of the transition toward clean energy.
APLSI welcomed the policy direction, but emphasised the importance of a gradual and realistic approach — taking into account industrial operational continuity, the system’s reserve margin, the readiness of grid infrastructure, and the financing scheme (bankability) of renewable energy projects.
Eka Satria also urged the government to provide greater fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, accelerate the simplification of Presidential Regulation Number 112 of 2022, and broaden access to financing so that renewable energy development becomes more bankable.
